Connecticut Sun
Aneesah Morrow performance and decision to start her
"I like it. I like, you know, her high energy, you know, so she was very solid defensively. She grabbed a lot of rebounds. She crashed the ball. So, you know, both both side of the court with her defensive rebound, but also with her offensive rebound. So, she brings something like I said in the beginning, you know, so she has something that we don't need to, you know, to teach. So, and yeah, her aggressiveness and because we we want uh we we want we wanted to to match up, you know, the Valkyrie, so it's for why she start the game, but also because she deserve to sometimes to start the game. So, yeah, her aggressiveness um we decided to switch all the ball screens with her. So, yeah, so it's a yeah, something different with her on the court."
team defense and connectedness
"Um, I think that we we played a great game, a good team game. Um, so we splitting our game playing uh most of uh most of deflection over here. So most of freeze, most of transition points with 22 points. So I think that way we did a We did the job. We did the job what we we supposed to do. So I am very happy. Big shout out for Marina for Tina... because she she play you know world six. So al so so she play 18 minutes and she scored 24 points. So yeah I am very happy and so now just focus on the on the next."
Golden State Valkyries
adjustments for the next game
"Yeah, again just putting it back on me like I have to just do a better job of uh organizing this day in between and maybe giving them more direction on how this day works out rather than just saying, 'Hey, you guys can rest and recover on your own.' So, I'm learning them. You know, they're learning me. And what I've learned, too, is like, uh, I think more instructions, uh, is better for them."
Handling defensive schemes and turnovers
"Yeah, again just putting it back on me like I have to just do a better job of uh organizing this day in between and maybe giving them more direction on how this day works out rather than just saying, 'Hey, you guys can rest and recover on your own.' So, I'm learning them. You know, they're learning me. And what I've learned, too, is like, uh, I think more instructions, uh, is better for them."
Indiana Fever
Reading defenses and exploiting zones:
"Early, she [Mitchell] knocked down a couple long jumpers when they were playing zone... So, she got some open looks and knocked them down... did a really good job of attacking when they went man and making the right reads, making the right plays."
Future potential in shooting and attacking off the dribble [Aliyah Boston]:
"She’s [AB] going to hunt more... eventually, she’s going to be able to shoot the three... who knows when she crosses somebody."
Counter zone defense:
"They were playing zone, so bringing in Chloe early and having four shooters around AB was important... KK's versatility allows us to play her defensively differently than Dee."
Chicago Sky
Defensive adjustments with zone defense and fatigue management:
"Sometimes you got to get a little bit creative on the defensive end when you're down bodies to protect from balance trouble and fatigue... we give ourselves an opportunity to kind of mix it up into our defenses a little bit more."
Rachel Banham on confidence and willingness to take open shots:
"We're confident in ourselves and we know we have an open look up to let it go. So, I definitely came to this game more and I had to be aggressive kind of being guard out there."
Guards crowded and physical defense forcing adjustments:
"They did a good job crowding us as guards, being physical trying to push off the block, making catches harder."
Las Vegas Aces
line-up changes:
"KB [Bell] just stayed ready…her minutes have been spotty but when I've been consistent with her, she's been consistent with me and performing."
"Jewell wanted a change of scenery and to come off the bench, it was actually her idea…so that really helped."
cutting for scoring opportunities:
"KB does a lot of little things offensively — movement, cutting…very good cutter, which helps with ball movement a lot of times."
Jackie Young on frequent fouling on three-point attempts:
"I think just being able to score on all three levels... they have to decide if they want to let me get the three off or get to the basket… sometimes I just end up getting fouled."
Dallas Wings
Rebounding focus to limit second chances:
"We want to pound in the paint, take advantage of their bigs, get them in foul trouble... we need to improve rebounding..."
Defensive effort and adjustments needed:
"We could have done better crowding A'ja Wilson, making her play in tight spaces… sometimes the guards could have dug down more."
emphasis on attacking inside and post passing:
"We fed the ball to the paint quite a bit… the goal was to pound inside, get them in foul trouble, then kick out."
Praise for Haley Jones energy and tempo:
"Haley is a spark off the bench… plays with a motor and tempo that helps us get up the floor faster."
